OUR MISSION

People Power for Florida is on a mission to

change what civic engagement looks like!

We believe that power should be in the hands of the people!

Founded by Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani, People Power for Florida Empowerment Fund is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) fiscally sponsored organization dedicated to empowering young people to become informed, engaged, and effective civic leaders across Florida. We advance civic participation by organizing volunteers and statewide initiatives focused on voter registration, non-partisan voter education, and long-term community leadership development.

People Power for Florida Empowerment Fund is building a youth-led multi-generational movement that aims to reshape Florida’s electorate by registering, educating, and mobilizing new voters across the state. At our core we seek to empower the next generation of leaders to create change on their campuses and in the community by engaging in voter registration, voter education, and voter empowerment campaigns focused on issues that young people care about such as climate justice, reproductive justice, and affordable healthcare for all among many other issues.

We envision a Florida where volunteers, organizers, and voters alike can come together to participate in our democracy and protect our collective rights. With a shared vision, it is our hope to reimagine what’s possible when all 1,200+ of our volunteers come together with a common goal: To make our democracy stronger in a time when it has never been more at risk.

FOUNDER &
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friend,

People Power for Florida was founded on a simple but important truth: young people deserve real power in shaping Florida’s future. Not someday, but now.

For too long, our political systems have been designed to exclude emerging leaders who are ready to organize, lead, and create change. We exist to dismantle those barriers. From campus voter registration drives to community trainings and year-round grassroots organizing, we build clear pathways for young people to turn passion into action, and action into lasting impact. Our work is rooted in building multi-class, multi-racial, and multi-generational coalitions that reflect the lived realities of everyday Floridians, with young people leading the way forward.

My commitment to this work began as an undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, where I encountered my first political mentors. People who invested their time, talent, and resources in leaders like me. They didn’t just encourage us; they opened doors, created opportunities, hired us, and pulled up chairs at tables that had long felt out of reach. That investment changed my life, and it shaped my belief in what’s possible when we choose to cultivate new leaders instead of gatekeeping power.

Now, as we enter our fifth year of intentional youth engagement across the Sunshine State, People Power for Florida is growing into a permanent, youth-led movement. Through the People Power for Florida Empowerment Fund, we are expanding civic education, leadership development, and grassroots organizing — building durable infrastructure that lasts beyond any single election, campaign, or political moment.

This movement is powered by people. By organizers, volunteers, donors, and community members who believe democracy works best when everyone has a voice. We are not funded by corporations or special interests; we are funded by the collective generosity and shared commitment of people like you.

If you believe in bold leadership, shared power, and a Florida shaped by the needs and voices of everyday people, I invite you to join us. Build with us. Organize with us. And help us grow people power — together.

With gratitude,

REPRESENTATIVE DR. ANNA V. ESKAMANI
